Smithsonian Shares Love of Lincoln with Students

The Smithsonian is giving schools and teachers around the country free President Lincoln photo portfolios celebrating “One Life: The Mask of Lincoln” exhibit. 

Included within each portfolio will be 10 photos of President Lincoln and information about his presidency. 

The portfolio distribution was made possible by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and the National Portrait Gallery, which is currently displaying the originials that the photos are based on in the exhibit “One Life: The Mask of Lincoln.”

The National Portrait Gallery exhibit runs now through July 5, 2009.  The Web site of the Smithsonian museum features interactive lesson plans for students and teachers, much like the free photo portfolios distributed to middle and high school students around the country.
